Khulna district : Khulna district with an area of 4,394,46 km square is bordered by the districts of Jessore and Narail in the north, the Bay of Bengal in the southern district of Bagerhat in the east, Satkhira district in the west.

 KHULNA DIVISION : The Khulna division borders the Indian state of west Bengal to the west, the Rajshahi Division to the north, the Dhaka and Barisal division to the east, and has a coastline on the Bay of Bengal to the south. It is part of the Ganges River delta or Grater Bengal Delta. 
   Khulna is the third largest city in Bangladesh. It is located on the banks of the Rupsha and Bhairab rivers in khulna district. It is the divisional headquarter and a major industrial and commercial center of khulna division. It has a seaport named Mongla on its outskirts, 38 km from khulna city, which is one of the largest and most important parts of Bangladesh. The population of the city is about 14.47 million. 
   The city is 333km southwest of Bangladesh's capital Dhaka, to which it is connected by air, road, train and water. It lies south of jessore and Narail, East of Satkhira, west of Bagerhat and North of the Bay of Bengal. It is part of the largest delta in the world. In the southern part of the delta lies the Sundarban, the world's largest mangrove forest and the best attraction of this division for tourists.

Shrines of Khan zahan Ali : You have seen the relationship between man and dolphin, perhaps heaver between man and crocodile. Visit this place and see it in reality, not movies. Call them " Black Mountain, white mountain are you"! You will see the married couple is greeting you from the surface of the water. They are two monster crocodiles living together for long long time. They understand and respond your call. They look scary; but lost there natural traits of wildness and many other crocodiles in this "Dighi". Dighi is a huge water reservoir dug on the ground. You can call it a pond with enormous area. This Dighi is 2000 feet long and 1080 feet wide. The banks of this Dighi is as high as hills. The wide stairs made of stones goes all the way down to the water from the top of the bank. You can feel a sacred reservation of the nature. It is a part of the complex of the shrine of Khan Zahan Ali. He was a warrior, ruler and a saint during the rule of sultan Nasiruddin Mahmud shah (1442-1459). He built many mosques, Dighis and roads. The sixty dom mosque is the most prominent of his architectural works. 


 








Sixty Dome Mosque: Sixty dom mosque was built by khan Zahan Ali in 1459 another architectural wonder by a Muslin ruler. It is not like something in Cordoba or Granada or Tajmahal in India. It is an architectural beauty to modern architects even today. This mosques has 81 domes and built on 60 pillars.  It is perceived that because of 60 pillars it is called 60 dome mosque. The mason work with tiny and fancy bricks is really fascinating. It is 180 feet long, 108 feet wide and 22 feet high, saint Khan Zahan Ali used to run his office from here. There is a museum here. You will see in this museum many archeological findings and items of historical importance from Khan Zahan Ali's period.

 













Shrine of Lalan Fakir : If you feel somewhat interested about the life of a poet who was spiritually revived them visit of shrine of lalan fakir in kustia. He was born, lived and died there. He wrote spiritual poems; used to compose and sing his own songs on a single string instrument called 'Aaktara'. He left a remarkable contribution in Bangla literature. He lived 104 years with absolutely no fascination to any material position. He appeared to be happy and content; had nothingness; it is empty; things worthless except the relationship with the truth, the infinite, was built in this memory here. You can take a trip by bus or train from Dhaka direct to Kustia.


 





     

                                             

Rabindra complex : Rabindra complex was Rabindranath Tagore's one of the personal residences. This three storied building is on thirty acres of land with its eighteen rooms in it, presently a museum. You will find many of his literary and painting works in this museum. You will also see the copy of his certificate of Nobel prize and his own hand writing. He composed his won songs and sang himself. His composed songs are known as Tegore's song. He wrote hundreds of poems which contributed enormously in Bengali literature and have a tremendous influence in the lifestyle of Bangladeshi people today. He received Nobel prize in 1930. This spot is visited by hundreds of visitors every year.


                                     








        Mujib Nagar :  Mujib Nagar is significant spot because the first provisional government of Bangladesh was formed here in April 17, 1971. 22 piller monument was built in memory of the provisional government. Yoy will also see a house used by the British officials during their colonial rule to collect taxes from the farmers. This is the place where the last Nawab shiraj-ud-dawllah lost his kingdom against the British (Bangla, Bihar, Orissys) in the battle of palashi in 1757.











Sundarban : Sundarban is the home of the Royal Bengal Tiger. I think I could stop right here because you already know what it is. All over the world the Royal Bengal Tiger is well known.This habitat of our special animal is a forest known as sundarban
  There are many tourist spots in different locations of Sundarban. They are Mongla, Hiron point, Dublarchar, Putna Island. There is a watching tower in Hiron point to water the wild animals safely. Distance of Hiran point, Dublarchar, Putna Island is 48km, 90km and 106km from mongla sea port respectively.

You can make arrangement with the Mongla port office to stay at Hiron point rest house. You can contact the parjatan corporation also to stay at the rest house and see around the spot. It is advised to carry drinding water and emergency medicine.



                                          








Michael Madhusudan Dutt: Michael Madhusudan Dutt (25 January 1824-29june 1873) was a popular 19th century Bangladeshi poet and dramatist. He was born in sagardari, on the bank of Kopothakho river, a village in Keshopur upozila, Jessore District, East Bengal(now in Bangladesh). He was a pioneer Bengli drama. His famous work Meghnadh badh kabita, is a tragic. It consists of nine cantos and is quite exceptional in Benglali literature both in terms of style and content. He also wrote poems about the sorrows and affictions of love as spoken by women. From an early age, Madhusudan desired to be an Englishman form and manner. Born to a hindu landed gently family, he converted to Christianity to the ire of his family and adopted the first name, Michael. However, he was to regret his desire for England and the accident Bangla sonnet. He pioneered what came to be called amitrakshar chhanda. Dutt died in kolkata, India on 29 June 1873. in later life when he talked ardently of hes homeland as is seen in hes poems and sonnets from this period. Madhusudan is widely considered to be one of the greatest poets in Bengali8 literature.

Mongla sea port :There are two sea port in Bangladesh. One of them is Mongla sea port. It situated in Bangladesh in nearest in Sundarban. It helps Bangladesh currency and financial development.
