Dhaka district : Dhaka is a district of Bangladesh. Rangpur stands on the bank of the river Buringanga. Dhaka is the capital of Bangladesh. Dhaka is the most important for Bangladesh.

Important upazila and places: There are 5 upazila in Dhaka. The upazilas are Dhamrai, Duhar, Keraniganj, Nawabganj and Savar. postal code - 1200

Travel to Dhaka : There are available bus from most of the district of Bangladesh. The international visitors use the Hazrat shahjalal International Airport for incoming.

Statistics : Population 7886000 (2000); male 55.15%, female 44.85%, muslim 92.72%, Hindu 6.50% and others 0.78%, Avarage literacy 53.9%.

Agricultural contribution : Main crops paddy, jute,wheat, potato, peanut, onion, garlic, chilly, ginger, berel nut, pulse, corn, sugarcane and vegetables.

Fruits : Main fruits Mango, jackfruit, papaya, guava, olive, coconut, kul and banana.

Historical places : Bara Katra, Mir jumla's Gate, Lalbag fort, Nimtali places, Ahsan Manzil etc are the historical places of Dhaka.

Dhaka.

Dhaka Division : Dhaka division is located at center of the country has an area of 3m sq. and a population of 38,678 million. It has 17 district and 64 municipalities. Main rivers of are Padma, Jamuna, Meghna, old Brahmaputra, Dhaleshwari, Shitalahshya, Brahmaputra, Buriganga, Arial khan. Madhupur and Bhawal garhs are located to the northern parts of Dhaka city, in Gazipur, southern part of Mymensingh and eastern part of Tangail districts. Garo hills are  located in Mymensingh district. Dhaka ( capital 2 city ) stands on the of the river Buriganga.

Dhaka city : Dhaka is the capital of Bangladesh. The city is known as the city of mosque, musline and rickshaws. It has attracted travelers from far and near through ages. Dhaka as the capital of Bangladesh has it grown in to a busy city of about ten million people with an area of about 1353 sq. km. Having a happy blending of old and new architectural trends. Dhaka has been developing fast as a modern city and is throbbing with y activities en all spheres of life. It is the center of industrial, commercial, cultural, educational and political activities for Bangladesh.

Lalbag fort : It is the fort of Aurangabed famously known as Lalbag fort which was established in the year 1678 by prince Mohammad Azam was the son of mughal emperor Aurangzed who was the then viceroy of Bengal. 

 

  
Suhrawady uddyan : It is a popular park of the Dhaka city and formerly known as the race course maiden where the great leader bangabandhu deliver his historic March 7 speech in1971. The child education and recreation par, popularly known as shishu park is also located in a corner of suhrawardy uddyan.

National Assembly complex : Parliament building of Bangladesh is a beautiful place in Dhaka. National assembly complex in sher-e-Bangla was designed by the famous architect Louis khan has distinctive architectural features.

National memorial : National memorial of Bangladesh is located at savar. This monument was built to commemorate the martyrs of the war of independence, jahangirnagar university and its sprawling campus is also located nearby. 

Mirpur zoo : Zoological garden of Bangladesh is called Mirpur zoo. It is situated at Mirpur.10km. to northeast of Dhaka, on 230 acres of land. Tourist can see life of wild and domestic animals from very near. It is the biggest zoo in Bangladesh.

Shahid Minar : It is the symbol of Bangladesh nationalism, was built to commemorate the martyrs of historic language movement of 1952.

 

Botanical Garden : The garden built over an area of 205 acres of land at Mirpur, near Mirpur zoo. The botanical garden is useful for botanical education, research, preservation of plants as well as recreation with the touch of green nature.




 National Poet Kazi Nazrul Islam Graveyards: Kazi Nazrul Islam is the national poet of Bangladesh died on August 28, 1976 & was laid to rest here, near public library and adjacent to the mosque of Dhaka University.



Bangabhaban : The official residence of Bangladesh is situated near Matijheel commercial Golistan and adjacent to tikatuly. Any tourists can have a look outside view of Bangabhaban only.


Ahsan Manzil Museum : The Museum is located on the bank of river Buriganga in old Dhaka. The face of the Ahsan Monzil is to south to the river. It is a metal of the nations rich artistic heritage. Actually it was the home a silent witness to many historical events. New look Ahsan manjil is a monument of immense historical beauty. It has total 31 rooms with a huge dome atop which can be seen from.miles around. It now has 23 galleries in 31 rooms displaying portraits, furniture and house hold articles and utensils used by the Nawab family.

  National Museum : The National Museum is a building where contains a large number of interesting collections for historical ere-traditional including sculptures, coins, paintings and inscriptions. all symbols of our great nation are stored here in original style scientifically.


Bahadur shah park : It also called 1857 memorial built to honour the martyrs of the first liberation war during 1857 to 1859 against British rule, it was here that the revolting sepoys & there civil compatriots were publicly hanged.

 Ramna Green : As the Dhaka city become place of vast population. If you look around you will see high raises building only but Ramna park is a vast stretch of green ground surrounded by a serpentine lake where people can take fresh breath.

National Art Gallery : National art gallery is situated in the Shilplakala Academy building where it has a representative collection of folk art & paintings by renowned artists of Bangladesh.

Baldha Garden : Baldha garden is a beautiful garden in Dhaka. The garden is located in the wari area of old Dhaka. Teenager likes this place very much for dating, also locally known as love place. Bldha garden is small in size but it has great history as Rabindra Nath Tagore was visited Baldha Garden. Baldha Garden has rare collection of botanical plants and flowers.

  Sonargaon : Folk at museum located in sonargaon, about 29 km. from Dhaka is one of the oldest capitals of Bengal. It was the seat of Deva dynasty until the 13th century. From this period onward till the  time of the advent of the Mughals. Sonargaon was a subsidiary capital of the Sultanate of Bengal, Among the ancient monuments still intact are the Tomb of Sultan Ghiasuddin ( 1399-1409 A.D.) shriness of panjipirs and Shah Abdul Alla and beautiful mosque at Goaldi Village.

National park : The park is situated at Rajendrapur, about 40 km. from Dhaka within joydevpur police station in the magnificent Bhawal region on Dhaka-Trishal-Mymensingh highway, this is a vast of 1.600 acres national recreational forest, ideal for those who love nature.

Baitul Mukarram : The National Mosque in the down town area is the precursor of a number of noticeable beautiful modern mosques. It is modelled after the rectangular shape of the holy kaaba in Mokkah.

Mosques : Dhaka is better known as a city of mosques. The number of mosques in Dhaka city-old and new would be more that one thousand. The only existing monument of the pre-Mughal period in Dhaka is Binat Bibi's mosque sutrapur. Other monuments of the sultanate period around Dhaka are the single-dome Goaldi Mosque established during 1493-1519 and Mosque of Fateh shah at Mograpara was established in the year 1484.
The most primitive Mughal memorial in Dhaka is the Eidgah, an open field for eid. Prayers, located in Dhanmondi area. The most architecture mosque of Moghal was three-domed sat gombuj mosque as show seven domed or sat gombuj mosque. It is situated in Mohammedpur. Another 3 domes mosque build in the year 1679 situated behind the old high court building.

 The mosque of khan Mohamad mridha stand closer to the northwest corner of the Lalbag fort was established in 1706. The only comparable to Mridha's two storyed mosque is the five dome kartalab khan's mosque at Begum Bazar near the central jail.
The mosque was between 1700 and 1704. It has a stylish two-sided roofed, hut -shaped room along its northern face, which with its curvilinear eaves, gives it a very distinctive look.
The chowk jame mosqaue, according to an inscription found on the buildintg was built in 1676. Perhaps one of the best known and regularly visited mosques in Dhaka is the petite star mosque in Armanetola which has an inlaid star pattern made of broken pieces of china, It was built in the early 18th century.

Wildlife Sanctuary :Madhupuris about 128 km. from Dhaka, an interesting wildlife and game sanctuary of the country.



Churches : Armanian charch was established in the year 1781.st. Mary's cathedral at Ramna. Church of Bangladesh in 1677 at Tejgaon.

River cruise : During the dry winter months river cruise is available. The cruise provide an opportunity to have glimpse of riverine Bangladesh and its lash green countryside.

Geography : Dhaka district shares borders with Gajipur and Tangail to the Geography. Dhaka is located in the geographic center of the country. It is in the great deltaic region of the Ganges and Brahmaputra river. The city is within the monsoon climate zone, with an annual average temperature of 25 deg c (77deg F) and monthly means varying  between 18 deg (64 deg F) in January and 29 deg c (84 deg F) in August. Nearly 80% of the annual average rainfall of 1,854 mm (73 in) occurs May and September.
