  LARGEST SEA BEACH ON EARTH
INTRODUCTION: Golden sands, miles after miles, overlooked by genteel. Cliffs and awash with foaming waves, colorful conch sells, panderous pagodas, delicious seafood -this is cox's bazar. The sea side tourist township of Bangladesh boasting the world's longest (120) beach sloping gently down in to the blue water of the Bay of Bengal. Cox's bazar is one of the most attractive tourist spots of the country. North of Cox's is chittagong and the hill districts of Bandarban and khagrachari, to the east is Mayanmar, to the west and south is the Bay of Bengal.

HISTORY: Ancient name of Cox's bazar was Bakolia Midseventeenth's name was pen PENGWA. The Rakhyne was world PENGWA means yellow flower. Burnese king Monwaing attacked Cox's bazar in 1784. He killed the  Arakanese king thamada and took control of Arakanese kingdom. After taking control of Arakan, he continued the perseuority of the Arakenese left the area to take shelter in the chittagong hill tracts and patuakhali. The Government of the East India company appointed caption Hiram Cox as super intendent and sent him to rehabilitate the Arakanese refuges. On arrival there in 1799, he defeated the Burmise king in a battle and rehabilitated the Arakanese refuges. After the war, he set up bazar (markret) in that place which was named as Cox's Bazar after him. 

cox's Bazar -a tourist paradise : The sleepy township at the need of a 120 km. long beach with lines of fancy shops on either sides of cox's bazar main road, calm and peaceful khyangs and pagodas, Rakhyne quarters, fish harnour of kostura ghat, the sightes of the rising sun behind the hills, and setting of it in to the Bay of Bengal all together gives the aura of a fairy land a tourist paradise. 


Laboni beach : Laboni beach is the main beach of cox's bazar. At here we can easily enjoy the scenic beauty of Bay of Bengal. It is a place for enjoyment maney people come here including the foreigners. The beach is  well appreciated during sunseat and sunrise, where people can witness the sea as it changes its colors twice in a day. Visitors can sunbathe, surf, jog, cycle and swim. It is best for swimming and relaxation. Close to the beach, there are a lot of small shops selling souvenris, locally made cigars & beauty products (sendal wood based), handmade clothes, bed sheets, dresses,shoes and beach accessories to the tourists. It is a nice place for our tourism.

Kolatoli beach : Kolatoli beach is another attractive beach for the tourist. Every year different ages people come here to take sea bath, driving sea ski boat can take fresh and apealing various kind of sea foods. Walking beside the sea shore on moonlit night is always pleasent for all aged tourist. A slow paced life most work happens in the morning and evening, whereas midday is reserved for drying rice and fish. During the day time, some villagers sells and chewing paam (battle leaf).


Radar station : Bangladesh is visited by natural disasters every year. Thats why Bangladesh is called the land of natural calamities. The common natural disaster in our country are floods, stroms, cyclones, drought and famine and in pre-and post-Monsoon season. Natural from RADAR station could minimize damage of natural disaster. Teknaf : Teknaf a romantic old-world border township in the southern tip of Bangladesh territory looking up to the Mayanmar high hill ranges across the river Naf. Teknaf is 85 km from cox's bazar by road and 120 km. by the beach along the sea. One can reach here by public transport that leaves cox's bazar every hour. It is about 2 hours journey each way. Because of tropical  weather of Bangladesh most of the tourist usually go to visit this place during winter on in between winter and autumn (october to March). It is about look connected with various kinds of luxurious bus services.


Ramu : This is a typical Buddhist village, about 16 km. from cox's bazar, on the main road to Chittagong. There are monasteries, khyangs and pagados containing images of buddha in gold, bronge and other metels inilaid with precious stones. One of the most interesting of these temples is on the bank of the Baghkhal river. It houses not only interesting relics and burmes handicrafts but also a large bronge statue of Buddha measuring thirteen feet high and resls  on a six feet high pedestal. The world carving of this khyang is very delicate and refined. The village has a charmed of its own. Weavers phy there trade in open work shops and craftsmen make handmade cigras is there ply there.



 Inani beach : Bangladesh is the land of nature because she is full of natural beauties. In Bangladesh there are many attractions for tourist around cox's bazar district. Inani neach is one of the most attractive and charming land. During the holy day many people even the students, come to the place to enjoy the natural beauty. Actually inani beach is femous for the rock and coral boulders; you will find big coral boulders in this beach. It is only 32km from the main sea-beach. you can plan a trib to inani beach via Himchory for a half day or inany be a full day sightseeing. The way to go Inani beach from cox's bazar is full of mind blowing scenes of nature. The green hills stay in the east of the road and in the west the ultimate beauty of Bay of Bengal. Everybody become strange because the scene is very amazing. Your mind will be with full of charm even before seeing inani beach. As kinds of seashells arefound on this beach with variation of colors and sizes. Tourists like to come here for relaxing and enjoying as it is free from the crowd of visitors who are typically seen at the Laboni beach.    


Himchori : Bangladesh got some special nature of beauty himchori is one of them. The natural beauty of himchori its too nice that it will charm you. Himchori is located in cox's bazar district. actually cox bazar is totaly a tourism spot. All the area of the district is very nice. Himchory had an Amazanian feel to it, with long narrow trees and greenery that I didn't think existed in cox's Bazar district. Himchori is realy a hotspot and attractive placed for visitors coming to cox's Bazar, be it local or foreigner. this location is situated about 6 km from the Kolatali beach by the green hill. The magnificent waterfall and green hills leading to the beach is a rare scene to enjoy. This place is ideal for a day picnic surbathing and relaxing. Thousand of people and school students go to the place for visit. Some days before I went there with some of my friends on that time the place was too much most and slippery from the heavy rains that week so we had to be very dareful. one slip and we would've been fallen deep in to the waters below us.


Moheskhali : Moheskhali is the wonderful tourism place of Bangladesh. It is about 6 km far from North-west of cox's Bazar. It is an island that is known for its beauty. You can go to this island by local motorboat called trawler or by speedboat. By trawler, it takes an hour and a half and by speedboat it takes only half an hour to reach this island. You will mangrove forests, hilly areas, salt field etc. An island of the coasts of cox's Bazar. It has a area of 268 spuare kilometers though the centre of the island and along the eastern coast line rises a range of low hill, 300 feet high but the coast to the west and north is a low-lying treat frienged by mangrove jungle. It is these rare natural qualities that lure visitors to the island. In the hills on the coast is built the shrine of adhinat, dedicated to siva. By its side on the same hills is Buddhist pagoda. This island is famous for Buddhist Temple and pagoda. You can enjoy the full day sight seeing if you intend to visit sonadia and some other island hearby, where you can see the live fishing and fisherman lifestyli, by the afternoon you can come back to cox's Bazar.


Sonadia island : It is about seven kilometer of cox's Bazar and about nine square kilometer in area the western side of the island is sandy and different kinds of shells are found on the beach. Off the northern part of the island, there are beds of windowpane oysters. During winter fisherman set up temporary on the osland dries sea fishes, which they catch from sea.
