                               Sylhet district :   Sylhet district with area of 3,490.40 km is bounded by the Khasia hills, jainta of India in the north, MaulviBazar district in the south and kachhar karimganj districts of India in the east, Habiganj and Sunamganj districts in the west.

Important upazila and places: There are 11 upazila in sylhet, the upazilas are Balaganj, Beanibazar, Bishwanat, companiganj, Fenchuganj, Golabganj, Gowalnghat, Jaintapur, Kanaighat, Sylhet sadar and Zakiganj, postal code- 3100.

Travel from Dhaka: There are available bus in a day. It is easy to go Sylhet from Dhada. 

Agricultural contribution: Main crops paddy, mustered, betel nut etc.

Fruits: Main fruits Mango, Jackfrit, orange, litchi. 

Historical or tourist places : The shrine of Hazrat shah jalal, the shrine of Hazrat shah paran, Shahi Eidgah, Gour Govinda fort, kean bridge, Malini choratea garden, Ali Amjad's clock tower etc are the historical tourist places of sylhet.

School College : Sylhet Engineering college, Murari chand college, osmani medical college, Sylhet polytechnic institute. Other notable educational institutions are jalalabad cantonmant public school and college, Sylhet cadet college, Sylhet agricultural university, Madan mahan college, Women's college, Sylhet government college etc.


Hotel Motel : There are many residential hotel in Sylhet. People from outside sylhet if come to visit they can use these hostel for live. There are also motel in the sylhet like porjoton motel.

Most attractive places in sylhet division : 


Hakaluki haor : Hakaluki haor is one of the Bangladesh's largest and one of the Asia's larger wetland resource. It is the home of numerous animals, fishes, birds and a large variety of flora and fauna. Fishes of 107 species  were available in the haor, some tasty and nutritive fishes like chela, dhela, pabda, lalchanda are extinct from here.There are different kind of rare plants, animals, birds you will find here. It is famous for a wide variety of waterfowl as well as wintering migratory birds so it is a good place for bird lovers and photographers. In rainy season it takes youthful and significance looks like as infinite water kingdom.


Madhabpur lake : Madhabpur lake is natural lake inside the Madhabpur tea estate. The water of  the lake is so clean and clear that you can not stop yourself from jumping inside the lake. This lake is between the small hills and most of the hills are planted with tea trees. A winter season different kind of migratory birds come here from cold countries so bird lovers can see and enjoy different kind of birds here. This is an ideal place for photographers. There is always heavy wind from the lake that made the water of the lake looks like a river of calm sea water. You mast enjoy the view and quietness of this lake.


Hummum falls : Hummum or hummum waterfall is one of the most beautiful waterfall in Bangladesh. This mystical waterfall like deep in to the Rajkandi Reserve Forest. The jhiri path of falls is fascinating. The hills and the surrounding forest make this place an ideal camping site for adventures seekers. The main beauty of this waterfall is in it's surrounding ground features. Anybody visiting this place will enjoy the whole route of the fall. But the final climax of the beauty is in the waterfall itself.


 The shrine of Hajrat Shah Jalal : Among the several places of historical interest in sylhet town is the shrine of saint Hajrat Shah Jalal. Even today, more than six hundred years after his death, the shrine visited by innumerable devotees of every cast and creed, who make the journey from far away places. Legend says, the great saint who came from Delhi to preach Islam and defeated the than Hindu raja (king) Gouro Gobindo, transformed the witchcraft followers of the raja in to catfishes witch are still alive the tank adjacent to the shrine swords, the holly Quran and the robes of the holly saint are still preserved in the shrine.


Haripur Gas field : Twenty two kilometers from Sylhet town is the Haripur Gas Field and at35km. point is the jointapur's rajbari. Only 5 km. from jaintapur from jaflong scenic spot amidst tea gardens. At about 35km. north-west of sylhet town, linked by rail, road and river chattak, the seat Assam Bengal cement factory, chhatak is famous for orange garden.

 

Temple Of Sri Chaitannay Dev : About 500 years famous temple of Sri Chaitannay Dev is located at Dhaka dakhin about 45km. south east from sylhet town. The place is revered from being the ancestral home of the famous vaishnava saint. Yearly fair is organized on the full moon day of the  Bangla month Falgun. Hundreds and thousands of devotees from home and abroad attend this colorful fair.


Shahi Eidgah : Three kilometers to the north-east of the circuit house, the shahi eidgah was built on a hill by the Mughal Emperor Aurangazab in the 17th century. It looks like a grade fort but is actually meant for eid congregation  the two biggest Muslim festival.


Gour Gobinda Fort : The murarichand Government college is situated in a beautiful surrounding on a hilltop. To the north-west of the college lie the remains of the king Gour Gobinda's Fort.


Tamabil jaflong : Situated amidst splendid panorama, Tamabil is a border outspot on sylhet shilong road about 55km. away from sylhet town. Besides enchanting views of the area one can also have a glimpsi of the waterfalls across the border from Tamabil . Jaflong is also a scenic spot nearby amidst tes gardens and rate beauty of rolling stones from hills.


Jaintapur : Situated 43km. to the north of sylhet town, on the Sylhet-Shilong road, Jaintapur was the capital of an ancient kingdom which included the khashi hills and plains of Jainta. Interesting ruins of this forgotten period lie scattered throughout Jaintapur. A drive to Jaintapur is an interesting and worthwhile experience.


Srimongol : Srimongol is famous for the largest tea gardens of world covered by lush green carpet. One can have a look in to the spectacular tea processing at tea research institute. Bangladesh produces exports a large quantity of high quality tea every year. Most  of the tea estates are in Srimongol. It is called "The land of two leaves and a bud". It is also called camellia, green carpet of tea mountain. There are a lot of estates including the largest one in the world. The terraced tea garden, pineapple, rudder and lemon plantations from a beautiful landscape. It is known as the tea capital in Bangladesh. Just offer entering of the tea spot the nice smell and the green beauty will lead you many kilometers away.


Lawarchara tropical rain forest ( National park) Srimongol :  This is an important and well preserved forest in Bangladesh, a home of wilds animals as capped languor, pic tailed, Assamese, rhesus macaques, slow loris etc. including rare species-Gibbon-hoolock that tourists may see rare species gibbons swinging through the trees of conopy in the forest. Birds, mammals and insect watchers should not miss this chance and its main attraction is dense forest calm with many trees of more than 100 years old and plants, crippling of birds nolse of insects and cells of animals is like a music forest, many hills and zigzag paths give amazing feelings, a good place for trekking through trails, there is only one African teak oak in Bangladesh which is here.

Madhabkunda waterfall : Madhabkunda waterfall is one of the most attractive tourist spots in sylhet division. Unique highest waterfall in Bangladesh at rocky hill in reserved forest. The long journey to Madhabkunda itsesf is exotic. On the way you can see the greenish beauty of tea garden, the hills and the zigzag road through the hills will increase the joy of your journey. The Madhabkunda you will see the highest waterfall. Big boulders stones and the black stones give a shape of care Madhabkunda.


Jaflong : Jajlong is one of the most attractive spots in sylhet division. Jaflong is also scenic spot nearby amidst tea gardens and rare beauty of rolling stones from hill. It is situated besides the river  Marry in the lap hill khashia. The marry river is come from the great Himalayas, which bringing million tons of stone boulders with its tide. You can watch the stone collection from the river is Jaflolg as well as you can enjoy the bloating in the river Marry. you can see the lifestyle of Tribe khashia in Jaflong.


Shirne shah paran : At a distance of 8km. east of sylhet, just off the highway to jaintapur is the Hazrat shah paran ( nephew of Hazrat shah jalal ). Usually muslims of Bangladesh visit both the shrines to complete their pligrimage.

Keane Bridge : A bridge named after sir Micheal keane who was english governor of Assam from 1932-1937. It is located on top of Surma River and it is known as the gateway to sylhet. It was built in 1936. Standing on 1150 feet tall and with a width of 18 feet this bridge is known as the gateway to sylhet. The budget required to build this bridge was 5.6 million BDT.
