WONDERFUL PLACE OF BANDARBAN










The nature setting of this little township rich is tribal heritage. Its flora and fauna, bamboo cottages its ethnic peoples and their life style have made this picturesque hilly resort a  popular destination of tourist. Here has the unique privilige of having two hight peaks of the country, the Keokaradang (4000 feet) and the Tazingdang (4632 feet). Chimbuk hill is a unique and different kind tourist attraction in Bandarban. It is called the Darzeeling of Bangal. It is 2000 feet high from the sea level. It is 25 km. away to the south of bandarban town with zigzag road and view of sangu river. The visitor can touch the could by hand. Another attraction of Bandarban are Bagakain lake, Prantik lake, beautiful of Sangu river, Rijuk waterfall, Rajbihar tribal musem, Meghla tourist spot Etc.
Historical events are the British rulers decrared Bandarban as a forest zone because of its vast forest area devoid of human settlement. The Arakanese were permanent settled in Bandarban after the British ascendancy in Arakan, Bandarban is the district head quarters of the Bandarban hill district. Bandarban is the home town of the bohmong chief who is the head of the Mogh tribe. The Moghs are of Mayanmar origin and Buddhist by religion. Jovial and carefree by nature, the Moghs are simple and nospitable people. Bandarban is also the home of the Murangs who are famous for their music and dance. Fat in to the interior there are several other tribes of great interest for anyone who cares to make the journey .

BUDDHA DHATU JADI : The largest buddhist temple in Bangladesh located in  Balaghata 4 km. from the town, is one excellent place to visit locally knownas " Swarna Mandir ". This theravada buddhist temple set a top a 60 meter hill is made completly in the style of South-East Asia and houses a sacres relic and the second largest statue Buddha in Bangladesh. The big buddhist temple is known in local language as kyang.
The Buddha Dhatu Jadi is regerded as one of the holy site for theravada Buddhism followers and buddhist pligrims. This religion is practiced by the Marma of Mogh tribal group of the chittagong hill tracts, a dominant ethnic group in Bandarban. They are of Arakan decent and Buddhists by religion. The temple is situated in the hill town of Bandarban, which has two of the highest pwaks hills, the Tazingdang (4000 feet or 1,200 meters) and the keokaradang (4,632 feet or 1,412 meters) covered with dense forests. Sangu river flows through the town. there is a waterfall nearby. the temple is built on top of a 9200 feet or 60 meters) high hill. Construction of temple started in 1995 and was complete in 2000.


BOGA LAKE : Boga lake is the most beautiful natural lake in Bandarban, Bangladesh. It is also known as Bagakain lake or Boga lake Boga lake is 18 kilometer Bandarban, Bangladesh. the area of boga lake in Bandarban is about 15 acress. Boga lake is situated at about 3000 feet above sea level of Bangladesh. the color of water of this Boga lake is blue and very much eye catching. There are many mythological stories Behund the creation of Boga lake. There are many tourists make their way to Boga lake every year, specially in the winter season. Small tribe community like Bawm, khumi have localities, besides the Boga lake. In the rainy season, it is quite difficult to stroll beside the Boga lake. The road from Ruma to Boga lake is still under construction. There waiting lots of pleasure and delight for you at Boga lake. You will definitely be amazed looking at the big rocks lying in and out of the Boga lake. You can have a camp fire beside the lake, that will be unbelievable and mind blowing memory in your life.

CHIMBUK HILL : Chimbuk hill is the third highest mountain in Bangladesh. Chimbuk is one of the most familiar tourist spot in Bangladesh. It is just 26 kilometer away from Bandarban sadar. Chimbuk hill is about 2500 feet high about sea level. the road of this area is zigzag. So if you ride in a jeep it will be charming. While your jeep is moving through the various indigenous villages, their simplicity in human gestures will compel you to think about our predecessors struggles to cope with to maintain existence. They are as simple from chimbuk, it will get you the feeling of floating over the clouds. When it is a shiny day. you can see the shades of clouds over the hills. The huge horizon of zigzag hills seem waves of a see, you will also see the beauty of Chimbuk and Nilgiri.

SANGU RIVER : Sangu river is the complete part of the natural beauty of Bandarban. It follows a northerly circuitous courses in the hill tracts up to Bandarban. It enters the district from the east and flows west across the district and finally falls in to the Bay-of-bangal at the end of a course of 270km. This river is flowing through the hills thousands of years. It is an important route to communicate with Ruma and thanci upozilla. It has huge financial interests for the populationof Bandarban.T. the river is widly used for transportation, agricultural and other necessary products for the people of remote community. In the winter season the current of the river almost becomes stagnant but in tue rainy season the current becomes aggressive. Visitor must be attract with the beautification scattered on the both sides of it. You can find here hills, forests, falls with a river together. All the way you will be thrilled only and it is simply amazing.

SHOILO PROPAT : The water fall named shoilo propat or shoilo propat at milanchari, 4km. from the town on the road to hanche, is also excellent site maintained by Bangladesh parajatan the natiional tourism promotion corporation.The parjatan motel is hot a small thing at all. It has a huge three story building on a high place. The room rent here a little high compared to other places the site maintained by the district administration is Meghla, 4 km. from the town on the road to keranihat, which features a mini-safari-park, a zoo and a hanging bridge. The district administration has also developoed the Nilachal tourist site near Meghla in Tigerpara.

KEOKRADONG : Keokradong is the second highest mountain of Bagladesh. Keokradong is about 4,035ft(1,230 metrs) high from the sea level. It is situated in 30 km away from the Ruma sadar upazilla of Bandarban in Bangladesh. This remote area is full  of natural beauty.Here you can see many small and big mountains and hills. The area is covered with dense forests, birds animals.
keokradang mountain is locatid on the border between Bangladesh and Mayanmar, It is the placd of surprising beauty. This natural beauty is surely attracts the mind of the adventurous people. In the winter season many adventutrous existement, you will pleased with the dazzling beauty of gren. hil, cool fountain, zigzag path hilly road side hide and seek. Game of clouds on the top of the hill.

RIJUK JHORNA : Rijuk water fall (rijuk jhorna) is located at Ruma upazilla of Bangladesh. The water is continuously falls in to the river Sangu from about 300 feet high hill with beautiful sound throughout the year and this water is shiny like pearl is surrounded by many kinds of plant and underwood. You can go there any time but during the rainy season you will see the most attractive glance of this fall. This awesome place will make you the most naturalistic and very close to your heart.




 NILGIRI : Nilgiri is the highest hill resort of Bangladesh with amazing natural beauty. This resort is located 47km. south east of Bangladesh town on chimbuk range at a height of 24000 feet from sea level. It has a high class residential accommodation that makes a difference. This beautiful resort in the top of the mountain maintainby the Bangladesh Army. You will be amazed when you see that the cloudy sky often kisses the peak of blowing down the hill gide and thin clouds were hanging around on their way to casual fly. Dimmed through the clouds, silver moon light was rolling down the folds and slopes. It is imagine the scenel clouds are playing with you and you touch them, This is me most attractive place of Bangladesh for those who love hills and clouds.
